A Southern Jewish Thanksgiving

October 11, 2014

We had a Southern-Jewish Thanksgiving! We celebrated the holiday differently with a Thanksgiving dinner featuring the foods and culture of the little known Jewish community of New Orleans.

The Wandering Chew had the chance to visit New Orleans where we got to meet members of the Jewish community who shared with us their favorite recipes, food stories and tales of what it’s like to be Jewish in the South. We came back with lots of inspiration and a few too many bottles of hot sauce!

This dinner featured music, drink, conversation, and delicious food. Each guest left with a gift and a booklet containing all the recipes for the dishes served.
