Ignite Tradition: A Pop-up Shabbat Dinner
The Wandering Chew will host a shabbat dinner in conjunction with Scintillements | 1001 Lights, the exhibit currently up at the Museum of Jewish Montreal.
This will be an evening highlighting women’s Shabbat rituals and the diverse foods served on Shabbat. Coming on the heels of International Women’s Day, we’ll be celebrating tradition while at the same time igniting discussions about the ways traditions have changed and been reclaimed throughout the ages. Guests will be treated to five courses of modern takes on traditional Shabbat dishes from Jewish communities around the world, paired with carefully selected wines and a special cocktail. The food and drink will be prepared by Kimberly Lallouz of Monsieur Restaurant + Bar and Maurín Arellano Frellick of Centrale culinaire, members of Les Femmes Chefs de Montréal.
The artists behind 1001 Lights, Philip and Marlene, will also provide an exclusive opportunity to hear about their process and the inspiration behind their exhibit.
Tickets prices are the following:
$60 for dinner with wine pairings
$45 for dinner without wine pairings
