Gefilte Manifesto Inspired Cocktail Party

We were joined by Liz Alpern and Jeffrey Yoskowitz (with The Wandering Chew) for an evening of Gefilte Manifesto inspired bites, cocktails, klezmer music, and schmoozing!

Liz and Jeffrey saw delis closing, grandparents getting too old to cook and Ashkenazi cuisine being perceived as a thing of the past. This moved them to launch The Gefilteria and bring Ashkenazi cuisine from the Old World into the New. They slowly worked their way through all eastern European Jewish foods, cooking classic dishes from their childhoods as well as less common dishes. All of this grew into an entire cookbook whose mission is to ” to keep the fires burning, and the ovens hot, for generations of Ashkenazi cooks to come.”
